Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
va detainer
my boyfriend was arrested for a 1995
parole violation and is being released
in december of this year. He has a
detainer in va for the same crime. He
was sentenced for five years. they did
not run this sentence together. He
will have served 22 months. the va
conviction is for 5 years. what
options does he have. can this
sentence be amended? we need legal

The matter will have to be brought before the appropriate Virginia court for a ruling once your boyfriend is returned to Virginia on the Commonwealth's detainer.
