Va. Code Sec. 18.2-57.2 addresses assault and battery against a family
or member of the household but makes no specific reference to minors.
It's classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor offense unless the perpetrator has
prior convictions of this or similar offenses in which case it may be charged as a Class 6 felony.
