Voluntary restitution protection against larceny charges?
My friend stole $500 from his employer, was caught, fired, and made quick voluntary restitution. Can they still press criminal charges or pursue further civil penalties or is he safe from further action now that he has made full restitution?

The fact that your friend has made restitution in no way alters the fact that he commited the crime,and, consequently, the company could still have him prosecuted criminally, but civil charges would appear unlikely, given the restitution already made by the perpetrator.
