Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Please Help!

I am wanting to drop assualt charges on someone and I don't know how to go about it. I keep getting the run around. The court date is 2 Feb 09. I have not recieved a subpeona. I am wanting to get these charges dropped asap.

As I told you in our telephone conversation this afternoon, it is not up to you(the alleged victim) but rather the Commonwealth's attorney as to whether such charges can (or should) be dismissed.
