Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
White-Collar Felon
I plead guilty to Fraudulent Embezzlement in 1996 and have completed my 10-year sentence of unsupervised probation. Since then I have obtained two Master's degrees, one in psychology and the other in theology. Is there any hope of me obtain a job or licensure as a counselor or better yet, expunging my record?

Re: White-Collar Felon
If your plea of guilty was to a felony as described, unfortunately, it will likely never be eligible for expungement under the laws of the Commonwealth----unless, of course, there's a change in the current law. (Va. Code Sec. 19.2-392.2 et seq.)
