Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I was wondering if someone could legally record a persons conversation without that person knowing about it without a search warrant.
I thought that it was illegal to record a conversation in VA.

No, Virginia is a so-called "one party state" which requires only the assent of one party to the conversation to record it. (Remember Linda Tripp from the Monica Lewinsky case?)
Furthermore, search warrants are not involved with these kinds of matters.
