Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Wrongfully placed on Sex Offender Website

I was convicted in (1992) of attempted sexual battery in Florida. I completed the sentence (1994) and probation (1996). Placed on the registry for a couple of years and then removed because conviction did not qualify. Off for three years. Laws changed in 2003 placing me back on the website. Reading the law it says only if you are convicted 3 or more times of Attempted Sexual battery. That charge is a misdemeanor in VA. The State Police changed my charge on the website to Attempted Rape (violent predator). I was told that the new law says it is equivalent to Virginias charge. My conviction was with an adult just to clarify. I am all for the website if it used properly. I need some advice on what to do I have talked to 12 different attorneys with no prevail. I need help filing a Writ of Mandamus.

Re: Wrongfully placed on Sex Offender Website

More information would be needed in order to formulate a meaningful response to this question. (Chances are, however, if you were placed back on the Florida registry for sexual offenders in 2003, Virginia authorities

will find a way to include you [and keep you] on the Commonwealth's sexual predator list, also.)
