Malicious wounding (regular) Class 3 felony-5 to 20 years; if done without malice (but unlawfully)Class 6 felony
1 to 5 years, or a minimum of 12 months in local jail. (See Va. Code Sec. 18.2-51.)
Aggravated malicious wounding (most serious, victim seriously injured)Class 2 felony--20 years to life.
