Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
So yesterday my so called friend came to my house drunk and knocked over a game set which had hundreds of cards and i asked him to put it back but he proceded to throw them everywhere so i asked for him to leave but he refused so i threatened to call the police and he still refused so i took his phone and gently set it down on my doorstep causing no damage to it and he took my laptop and ripped the cords out of it and took it outside and ran down the street and there was another 'friend' who was trying to get him and when he brought the laptop back there was a dent in the top and the screen is busted. but he ended up leaving and throwing a beer bottle at my door and my neighbor was a witness from the beer bottle. So i called the police and they asked if iw anted to press charges and i said no im going to wait to see if he would pay, but he refuses to pay so im going to go down to the courthouse and press charges. what happens now? do they have enough evidence? what if he says i broke it intentionally?
