1st DUI in Va, moving to VT.
I was arrested for DUI in 12/08.Bac was .12. I have had a very good driving record until this occurred.I am to appear in court in 5/09 but plan to move to Vermont next month and had intended to get a license there.I have not been convicted yet and am unsure of how to proceed.Should I go ahead with the VT licensure or wait? Will I lose my license in VT as well for 1 year as it is mandantory in Va?Thank you for your advice.

Re: 1st DUI in Va, moving to VT.
You will undoubtedly be obliged to disclose your DUI charge pending in the Commonwealth to the Vermont DMV authorities on your application for a driver's license in that state, and, therefore, it
will probably make little difference whether you wait for the Virginia disposition of your DUI case or not.
And Vermont's period of driver's license suspension for a first time DUI offender is quite likely the same as Virginia's.
