Legal Question in DUI Law in Virginia

dmv license revocation

I was convicted of a 2nd offense Dui in 2006 and the court suspended my license for 3yrs with the option for a restricted license after 4 mths. The DMV revoked my license permantely upon my conviction. I had 2 prior DUI convictions 1 in 1998 and 1 in 2000. All of the convictions were in Virginia. I have recently moved to Florida and need to know what steps I can take towards regaining my driving priviledge. Do I go through the Florida court system or Virginia? Which states laws apply to me? Is there a time limit before I can can get a driver's license again?

Re: dmv license revocation

You should go to the Florida DMV in person and make inquiry as to exactly what steps Florida will require in order for you to obtain a driver's license in that state. (It should go without saying, that you must fully disclose to Florida authorities the complete record of your convictions and driving history in the Commonwealth.)
