DUI in TN moving to VA
Hello, I was arrested for a DUI in June 2005 in TN while I was the age of 20 attending college. The court case and judgment took nearly 3 years, and just went through(12/07). I also recently graduated college, almost 23, and accepted a job in Richmond VA. Question: Will I have any problems obtaining a VA Driver's License? I currently possess a TN restricted license that allows me to drive to and from work, school and home, which expires 12/08. I have completed my TN alcohol classes, jail time, community service and paid all fines. Should I just wait till my TN license becomes un-restricted in a year and then apply for a VA license? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: DUI in TN moving to VA
Whether you wait until your Tennessee license loses it's restricted status or not, the fact of your DUI conviction will still have to be disclosed on your application for a Virginia driver's license. Consequently, I see no particular point in waiting to apply for a Virginia license if you're going to be moving to Richmond soon. (Virginia DMV authorities will make their own decision as to what kinds of conditions/restrictions to impose on your Virginia license, if any.)
