Interlock System

Can the department of motorveichle oder you to put the interlock system on your car,or does the judge do it.Dmv is saying that i need the interlock system on my car to get my licences but the judge did not order me to get it when i got my conviction.

Yes, see Va. Code Sec. 46.2-391.01-- Adminstrative enforcement of ignition interlock requirements (where driver has been convicted of a second or subsequent DUI offense or whose BAC equalled or exceeded .15, the commissioner, in keeping with the requirements of Va. Code Sec. 18.2-270.1, may require the installation of the ignition interlock system as a condition for restoring driving privileges or securing a restricted license in situations where the court has failed to impose it for whatever reason in the sentencing order.
