offense before july 1 2004
i was charged with dui in virginia,on june 19th 2004,but i was convicted after july 1st 2004,does the mandatory asap law apply to me beings my offense occured before the new laws went into effect?

The date of the offense rather than the date of the conviction, unless specifically excepted by the wording of the applicable statute, normally controls the law that may be applied to one's case.
