Hello,
Today my security clearence re-newal was denied due to a warrant in California. I currently live in Virginia. The incident was a DUI in Sep. 1999. I've contacted the Attorney Generals' office in California and they said I could dispute this. I think it will take too long for this process to work. Is there anything I can do? Preferably without having to fly ($$$) out to California. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You might initially contact a California attorney who handles DUI cases to
determine what could be done from the attorney's end to clear you of
this charge, but I suspect that at some point you might have to pay a personal
visit to what some still refer to as "the land of fruits and nuts" in order to deal with it.
California practitioner Michael Stone who answers criminal law questions in this forum might be one such attorney you might want to contact.
