Legal Question in DUI Law in Virginia

underage possession in VA - 20 yrs old

I was walking on the side of the road with a beer can (stupid right) and a undercover cop saw me. Took my beer, gave me underage possession, no breathalizer or anything. This is my first charge and I was wondering if anybody could give me some input about what fines and penalties im facing. Also should i get a lawyer or jus show up to my court date alone? thanks

Better try for the lawyer who should be able to arrange for an SIS(Suspended Imposition of Sentence) so you don't end up with a conviction on your record.
