Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

3 years ago I filed for divorce and moved to a foreign country and I got remarried 1 year ago.

i was going to apply for my new husbands paper work (I 130) and I found that they required a copy of all my divorce papers from any prior marriages. I contacted my attorney to get a copy of the finial decree , however he told me that he never finished the divorce so ......Now what should i do ?

Divorce my husband (current) and finish the divorce and remarry him after the divorce is final or Stay married and just continue the divorce in the states???? And will this mistake affect us when I file for him to come to the US through immigration?

Inform this attorney that unless he can somehow remedy his mistake

at this late date with minimum inconvenience to you, that you will have

to demand a refund of the fee that you paid him and report his lapse to the Virginia State Bar (www.VSB.org.) and then hire new counsel to determine how best you should proceed.
