Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

3 years,no divorce and lawyer fees are getting higher

It's been 3 yrs.I have been sep.Judge ruled in May-house goes up for sale to settle between the two of us.BUT-he didn't sign the divorce decree my lawyer prepared. My hubby let the house go downhill so it will be hard to sell,so I guess judge wanted to see if house sells b4 he signs??.Do I have to wait for the house to sell to get my divorce?Meanwhile,my lawyer has been billing me,without any idea how much I can expect to pay in the end.I get bills from her that I suspect she isn't spending that amt of time on the items she says she is. I owe 8,000. which is accruing interest because I can't pay her til the house sells, which could be a long time. What can I do?

Well, why not get this counsel moving

and have her contact the Judge's chambers to find out when his or her Honor intends to sign the final decree--so that you and others don't have to keep guessing about what his or her Honor intends to do in the matter?
