Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

17 yr old wants to live with aunt

My daughter will be 18 in one month and wants to live with her aunt. She is visiting with her now, and has expressed that she wants to stay there permanently. I live in Virginia, and her aunt lives in Maryland. My daughter is on juvenile parole. If I allow her to stay, do I have to answer to the judicial system?

No, you will not have to account for the actions of your soon to be adult daughter to Virginia probation/parole authorities. She should, however, return to Virginia and request to have her probation/parole case transferred to Maryland which should be possible as long she's not in violation of her Virginia probationary/parole status.
