Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My ex has a 7 yr old step daughter. Our son is about to turn 7 and when he visits his dad he sleeps in the same room (different bed) as the step daughter. I do not like this arrangement. What are guidelines/laws about opposite sex unrelated children sharing a room? We live in VA

Fortunately, (in my opinion), the "Nanny State" has yet to venture into this area

of family life which as far as I am aware is still largely left to the commonsense control of parents or guardians of children.
