Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have an abusive ex husband who is contacting my family and friends and telling them I am currently commiting tax fraud. I am not and can back that up with proof. My concern is that I have a great job now where I am respected. No one knows about this past abusive relationship. It took me a long time to leave him and once I did, he began to stalk me and harass and threaten me and people I knew (like co-workers if they wouldn't give him my schedule). Eventually, I found a safe place to go to (where he could not find me). Now, three years later, I have rebuilt my life. I really don't know what to do. I've thought about moving again and changing my name but I really love the life I have. Do I have any legal options to make him leave me alone?
