Adopting my kid

I recently married and y Husband would like to adopt my daughter who has no legal rights to her father. How would he go about in doing that?

First find out the location of the child's natural father and then determine from him as to whether he would be amenable to giving up his parental rights to the child so that she could be formally adopted by your husband.

Then, make arrangements to see an attorney who is knowledgeable in adoption law and procedures as they're practiced in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
