Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I am an adult child who would like to know if I can subpoena a man whom my mother says is my father to take a paternity test. I live in Virginia and he lives in California. He is a wealthy man and denies being my father. What are the chances?

If your suit were filed in Virginia, it would likely go nowhere; if in California (the land of fruits and nuts, as some say), who knows?
