Can an adult child sue a parent for abuse that happened to them as a child? I am 34 years old and would like to know if theres some sort of time limit on these things?

Abuse, what kind of abuse?
Unless the adult child has been under a legal disability, the time limit is 2 years from age 18, so the cause of action would usually be barred
If, however, the abuse was a particular kind of sexual abuse and, "if the fact of the injury and its causal connection to the sexual abuse is not then known [at the time the time limit runs out], when the fact of the injury and its causal connection to the sexual abuse is first communicated to the person by a licensed physician, psychologist, or clinical psychologist" becomes the starting point for the 2-year time limit.
This is a complicated issue of fact and law, so if this might be the case, you should contact an attorney for a discussion of how the law applies to your specific facts.
I wish you well as you deal with this.
