Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

If Its Adultery How Much Alimony?

my fiancee is in the process of getting a divorce in virginia.she filed may 8th and he was served today.if he is found ''at fault'' their divorce will be granted soon-if he challenges it they will be required to be ''seperated'' for a full year 9as of march 12th] my question is if he concedes adultery will that increase the ammount or duration of her alimony? shes currently unemployed and has been so since they married.he is in the military and doesnt make alot of money.she worked prior to their marriage.she is 28 and he is 29.we want this to be over with but not if it will reward her long term.would it be okay for him to admit it and get his divorce?

Yes, in Virginia, being found responsible for a fault ground in a divorce proceeding, could

result in an increase in the amount as well as the

duration of an alimony award over what otherwise would have been granted.

The operative word is could, meaning the nature of the alleged fault ground as well as other variables in the case such as the court in which the action was filed,, taken together, could determine the final outcome on this particular issue, but, obviously, there's no way to predict

this with any certainty.
