Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Are there advantages or disadvantages of my 17 year old daughter putting the name of her baby's father on the Birth Certificate when he has not been involved in the pregnancy? He is known for doing illegal drugs, is a heavy smoker and has a filthy mouth that no child should be subjected to. This all started after their relationship ended - before she found out that a baby was on the way.

Also, since she is under age, can I (her mother) demand a drug test to be done on the father (who is 18) in an effort to have any and all visitations monitored should a judge grant him rights to see the child?

Thank you,

I would suggest waiting on this particular issue; the putative father's name

can always be added at a later time and pursuant to a court-ordered

paternity test (if such may be required).
