Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
In my agreed order of support it states that my ex-wife and I are to pay 50% of any reasonable and necessary medical and dental expenses. My daughter needs braces, she has two teeth coming in behind her current teeth, so this is not just a cosmetic issue. Her Dentist referred her to an Orthodontist to have this taken care of. The Orthodontist advises she needs to have two teeth pulled by an oral surgeon in order to attach the braces properly. My ex-wife says that she can't afford her 50% cost of the braces. I pay her child support monthly, can I legally deduct her share of the costs from her child support check for this?
Thank you

No, you cannot (in my opinion).
