Old alimony & child support

I was divorced in 1969 and was never able to contact my X for child support, alimoney or cort costs because I did not know where he was. The divorce papers state --impossible to grant unto the complainant any award of alimony, support monies for the support of the infant child----these items be reserved unto the complainant to be enforced in subsequent proceedings. Well, I found him in Florida on his 4th wife. Can I file suite against him all these years later. I had a conversation with him on the phone and he took pleasure telling me how much money he has made in his life(some of it selling drugs for which he went to jail). He has really made me mad as I suffered and sacreficed for 18 years to raise and support his child by myself. Thank God (and me) that child is a wonderful human being today. Here I am living on Social Security and still struggeling.

No, Ma'am, I regret to report that you cannot now file suit for all of the support monies which may have been due you in the past with the possible exception of your claim for alimony, which however, may be claimable by you not for any period in the past, but rather only for the future and which you may wish to consult with a Florida attorney about who is conversant and experienced with such matters as they're currently handled under Florida law.
