Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

alimony

i have been married 9 yrs, the man does not work, drinks and we have had custody of his 2 kids for 8yrs. he cannot read, but promised me he would learn, i suspect he smokes pot, he threatens me when i ask him for a divorce. he says he wants the house which is in my name only and wants lots of alimony, i want out but i do not want to pay him one dime, i feel like walking away and claiming bankrupcy and letting them foreclose.

Re: alimony

If you're ready to separate from your husband in order to lay the legal groundwork for divorce, you should make arrangements to arrange for a consultation with an attorney who can advise you accordingly.
