Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Alimony Q&A

My older friend, married 33 years, divorced in VA and recieves alimony. She feels that she was misrepresented by her lawyer and was not awarded what she feels is 'right'. I believe it has been around 1 1/2 years since the divorce. She now lives in OK. Does she have any right to ask for her monthly alimony payments to be increased? Also, based on how she feels that her lawyer misrepresented what she actually wanted, will this effect anything? And is there any recourse for her? If there is recourse, must it be carried out in VA?
