Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Alimony

When my first wife and I divorced she was awarded a set amount of alimony per month however this was never based on her income or mine. Is there a worksheet that determines the amount of alimony I should be paying? If so, can I access it without obtaining an attorney?

Re: Alimony

You need to read your Final Decree of Divorce. That is the document that should tell you what you should be paying in alimony.

If you don't understand the Final Decree of Divorce then contact your divorce attorney and ask him/her to explain it to you.

If you did not have an attorney, I charge $150 per hour to go over people's final decree of divorce and explain it to you.
