Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

i have appealed a custody decision to circuit court and have had one hearing there. the case was continued pending an investigation of my ex wifes substance abuse and living conditions. the original order from juvenile court is for joint custody mother in the school year and me in the summer. school starts here two weeks before where there mother lives, which is three hours away. My son has special needs and cannot afford to have any disruptions in education. should i go ahead and put them in school here or wait two weeks and send them back to their mother. my basic question i guess is do i have to follow the order from juvenile court and let them start school there.

Yes, you must follow the order of the J&DR;Court until it is either superceded by

a custody order from the circuit court or until it is stayed by filing a motion for such stay pending the outcome of the appeal.
