What is an "attorney in fact"? Are they allowed to advise you in court if you are representing yourself?

An attorney in fact is nothing more than the person designated in a POA (Power of Attorney) who is legally empowered to act in place of or in subsitution for the person executing this POA.
Unless such person is also licensed to practice law, s/he has no authority to formally represent another person in any legal matter whether in court or without.
