Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

attorneys fees/travel expenses

4 years ago, my wife at the time of 15 years, took out an emergency protective order against me, without justifiable reasons, then took out a preliminary protective order, also without justifiable reasons. When we had the hearing for a permanent order, it was dismissed.

She now lives in Tenn, about 500 miles away. She took out an order of protection against me in Tenn. I retained an attorney, made the trip to Tenn, went into the hearing, and in less than 5 minutes the order of protection was dismissed.

Now, my question is, can I sue someway for harrassment or whatever to recover my attorneys fees and my expenses to answer to a frivilas order of protection.

I reside in South Boston, Va.

Re: attorneys fees/travel expenses

If she sues again in the same Tennessee court for a protection order and the case is again dismissed, ask the court for a judgment against her for whatever fees and costs that the court may be willing to award you.
