Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Does a babysitter's boyfriend have the right to spank, hit with a belt, a child that is being babysitted in Virginia? Social Services just informed me that they do, there is no law that says they cannot in the state of Va.

You/ve been misinformed; even a mother could find herself

criminally charged after striking a child with a belt. Your statement

would've been more correct to say that one person from a social services

office (who apparently didn't know what s/he was talking about) so stated

to you.
