Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Getting Back Child

My friend took her grandmother to court to give her temporary custody of her daughter until she could provide a proper living environment for her. It's been four years and my friend wants her daughter back but her grandmother refuses to give her back. Social services was never involved in the matter it was just a mutual agreement. How can she go about getting her child back?

Re: Getting Back Child

Your daughter needs to go back to the same court that awarded her grandmother "temporary" custody and petition for a modification of the current order to return the child to her care and custody.
