Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Background, i have full custody of my15 year son who has severed contact with his father over 3 years ago. My son and I are wishing to relocate from Va to NC, and want to know if we can move and just update the new address with his father or are we forced to remain in Va.

If you've been awarded full custody of your son by a Virginia court of proper jurisdiction, your order undoubtedly contains a provision that you must notify the father as well as the court 30 days in advance of your intention to move.
