Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Biased Judge

Is there any law about a judge being biased? I had a relationship with a woman (not any longer), and have a judge for my custdody case state that that was unacceptable for a child to be raised around a same sex relationship, they should only be around a man-woman relationship. There are plenty of homosexual couples that adopt, are foster parents, and that an excellent job raising children. Is there anything I can do, petition, etc, to have my judge look at the facts of the case and not sexual preference....I could see some concern if the child was put in harms way, but there is no harm put in my childs way, and she is not lacking without in any aspect.

Re: Biased Judge

I am sorry this happened to you. Our courts can be very scary places.

You should consult or hire an attorney to help you. That would be easier and better than you personally fighting the judge on these kinds of sensitive matters.

Good luck.
