Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Breaking of a child custody agreement
My husband and I have joint legal custody with him having primary physical. Two weeks ago to this day, his girlfriend came to the house at 1:22 in the morning with my oldest and my youngest daughter. (I have three girls) They were scared and wanted to come to me. He was beating his girlfriend up. I contacted the sheriff's department and social services first thing in the morning to let them know that the girls were with me and how they got there. Social services is dragging and says that, at this point, they see no evidence of physical abuse on the girls. The girls have been in three different schools already this year, and this morning he went to the school, pulled them out, to transfer to yet another school. My oldest (11 yrs old) threw a fit in the office, but ended up going with him. I have scheduled an appointment with a lawyer in the area, I was just hoping for some additional help. More is involved than this, but this is about as short as I can make it. Thank you.

Re: Breaking of a child custody agreement
You may have sufficient evidence for a change of custody. The evidence available to you should be reviewed in detail by an experienced domestic relations attorney.
Let me know if I may offer you a second opinion, or assist in some other way.
