Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Campbell County of Lynchburg, VA
is each small county only got one judge? the reason why I am asking that is because my stepdaughter has been waiting for yesterday july 3, finally she can go to count with her husband for file child custody case. but count called her in the morning and told her that the judge was sick and her case need to postpone to october? i am living in hong kong for work, i totally not understand how can that be happened, that is exactly what her husband want because right now he is the one have custody because my stepdaughter signed an agreement with him, he can have their son temporary until she found her home. but she found that that is not temporary agreement, is long term, then she felt she was so stupid to trust his family, because her mother in law was crying and he was saying they can try to dating again, then may be they will cool down and get back together, but everything is trap. but the good thing is that agreement is missing one signiture, so judge won't sign. in this case, do you have any good suggestion. please, we need help.........

Wait until October(and hope the judge isn't taken ill again).

Call the County Bar Association. Ask for a referral to a local attorney who knows the local rules and players, and who practices family law.
Your stepdaughter needs a lawyer now who can advocate for her. This is going to cost money. This is not an accesss problem she is going to solve without her own counsel.
