This is an order entered by the court to have a person taken into custody by a law enforcement officer and be brought before the court. Jail time can be involved.

Best advice I can give someone who is subject to a capias is to find out what it's about, get ready, and turn himself or herself in to the court first thing in the morning. That gives you the rest of the day to try to set things right.
