Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

CD's

My granddaughter was left by an aunt a CD worth 10,000.00. after her death the CD was put in the hands of her father. It had her aunt's name and the granddaugthers name under her's.

at the time the child was 6 now she is 19 & needs the money but her father will not give it to her. The aunt didn't mention these in the will. Should he give her this money now that she is an adult?

Re: CD's

The granddaughter should arrange for a consultation with a local attorney who handles wills, estates, and probate matters, and who should be able to advise her after reviewing the will and other documents which may be relevant to the matter.
