Who can legally change the locks for a house?

Does a change of house locks have any legal significance during a seperation or divorce?

Any co-owner can change the locks, and the other co-owner can change them back or break in their own house to gain access.

On the divorce question, changing the locks could be viewed as a form of constructive desertion of the marriage. "Making it well neigh impossible to sustaing the marital relationship."
