Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

How to change your last name legally

When my son and daughter were very young when their mother and I divorced and in a short period of time she remarried and wanted me out of their lives so I consented to their adoption. Now that the children are age 23 and 21 what they want is for their last name to be the same as mine. How do I legally do this?

There is a procedure in court to change a name. You can do it yourself or retain an attorney.
