Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

change of support

My ex wife is giving custody to her mother of our 2 boys. I pay support to the mother but this month i started to send it to the grandparents since the kids have been there over 4 months and the custody is to be finalised this month. The mother has sent only 1 8th of the amount to the grandparents since they have been there. Is this right me sending the money to them since its going to the kids?

Re: change of support

To protect yourself I think you should go into court and get the child support order modified to allow you to pay to the grandparents. If your ex-wife decides to get nasty (this can happen in rare instances in divorce matters) she could make a claim they did not pay for child support is your order to and you could end up paying twice.
