Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Changing how child support is paid

My ex-husband is currently paying child support by personal check. On three separate occasions the check has been no good. He is not on a consistent pay schedule. Is it possible to now have him pay thru DCSE instead of paying me directly, and if so, what steps need to be taken?

Yes, contact your nearest DCSE office and arrange

to secure an application for services which will include your executing (signing) a legal document called an "Assignment of Rights" which will give DCSE the legal authority to act as the collection and enforcement agent for your child support.
