child custody change

my daughter lives in va with her father. we have joint custody, he has primary. daughter is 9, wants to live me BAD...discord in dad's house, child doing poorly in school, step-mother calls me frequently discussing marital problems. daughter said last week she wants me ''to go court and ask the judge'' because father won't let her come. where do i start?

You might want to start with a consultation with an attorney who practices domestic relations law in that particular court where the custody order was entered and who should be able to advise you as to whether there's been a material change in the factors affecting custody that would be sufficent to impel the Court to change it's current order to award you physical custody of the child(assuming that is your objective).
