Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Child custody
My ex-wife has full custody of our two children. I was not served for the hearing so she recieved full custody. I presented evidence to the courts of abuse of my kids. But was denied custody. It is funny how the judge attends the same church as her and has denied me no custodyfor the 3rd time. How can I get another judge to hear the case or get the case transferred to another disctrict? I represented myself in the last case and the judgement did not look at any of my evidence or documents. I have no more money to afford an attorney but she can afford a $5000 lawyer with the help of my $1250 child support. And the judge stated at the end that since my ex-wife and I don't get along, I do not need to see my kids. I feel that the bias and has made all his decisions from prejudice. I am low on monies and I need help to get custody of my kids, and I feel like I have exhausted all of my options. Does anyone have any helpful advise? Please.....

Re: Child custody
By representing yourself, you have virtually no chance of ever being awarded custody of your children(in my opinion). Therefore, you should begin saving your funds in order to afford to hire another lawyer who is knowledgeable and experienced in the domestic relations laws of the Commonwealth and who, perhaps, at some future and appropriate time will be able to persuade the court hearing the case that, perhaps, based upon all the factors that the court is bound to consider in its deliberations of the matter, that it would be in the best interests of your two children that you be awarded shared custody of them.
