Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

child custody

Me and my ex have joint custody, he has every other weekend. My son is 2 1/2 and is doing gymnastics at school, but the teacher will stop this activity come june 2008, and I want to keep him doing gymnastics becuase he enjoys it, and I wanted to sign him up for saturdays, and my ex refuses to take him because of the distance from my ex house. I leave in 30-40 mins from work, and my ex house is 30-40 mins away, and every other firday I drive from work to my ex house which is about a hr depending on traffic, and my ex would have to drive to an hour on saturday there. He is refusing, and the place I found is 25.00 cheaper then a place where my ex leaves, and my ex will not contribute any money to help fund this since he pays child support. Is there anything that can be done?

Re: child custody

I can tell you this with reasonable assurance: no

judge assigned to hear this kind of dispute is going to be happy about it.

Therefore, you and your ex had best somehow work it out without having to take it before a black-robed one to decide, an occurrence which could harbor the distinct possibilty of both parties' having their respective ears quite severly burned for not being able to resolve this kind of seemingly trivial dispute among themselves.
