Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Child custody/ kidnapping

Okay My son is at my house this weekend and he has a baseball tournament to go to and his girlfriends mom said she would take him, but my ex-wife is saying that she is going to take my son and if his girlfriends mom takes him she will press kidnapping charges. We have joint custody and i thought that as long as my child is at my house i can decide what he does, and i say that it is okay that he goes with his girlfriends mom. So can she press charges or does she have a choice in who takes my son or am i the one to take the final decision since he is at my house for this weekend?

Re: Child custody/ kidnapping

No, if you have joint custody, when your son is with you, you then have he right to decide who may take him to a baseball game or some other entertainment event.
